We are thrilled to share the 10-year service anniversary of our technical manager, Matt Grealy. Here we take a moment to reflect on his career. In addition, we celebrate the invaluable contributions he has made to the business.
Matt’s career with Unifabs began right after he graduated from Coventry University with a degree in civil engineering. Armed with potential and eager to embark on his professional journey, he joined us as a junior CAD Engineer.
His commitment to excellence and innate talent quickly caught our attention. In recognition of his exceptional skills, Matt was entrusted with a unique opportunity. He was tasked with heading up a Unifabs satellite office at Bentley Motors to provide project support. This experience not only enhanced his technical expertise but also expanded his horizons within the engineering industry.
From Design to Technical Manager
In 2018, Matt was promoted to Design Manager, responsible for the team of industrial design engineers at Unifabs. His ability to guide and lead his colleagues became evident as he facilitated technical design projects and fostered a culture of innovation within our organisation.
Over the past 10 years Matt has been involved in much of the introduction of automation into the business from a design perspective. Learning new technologies and their capabilities, and identifying opportunities for both the business and our customers to benefit. Additionally he has been fundamental in driving the growth of the R&D function, supporting customers with industrial design services and prototypes. As part of his role, he has also led the establishment of the Unifabs Academy for manufacturing apprenticeships, supporting the next generation as they embark on their careers in manufacturing.
Last year, in 2022, another milestone was reached in his career when he was promoted to the position of Technical Manager. In his current role, Matt now spearheads a team of talented design engineers, oversees R&D and manages the apprentices.
